One Show, Our Backyard
System Of A Down is playing exactly one North American show in 2027, and it’s in our backyard at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. This feels like a must-see.
The band announced its first-ever Rose Bowl show for Saturday, June 5, 2027, with Pierce The Veil as special guests. According to the band’s official site, it’s the only North American date on their 2027 calendar. The rest of next year is stadiums in Brazil, Australia and New Zealand in January and February. They teased it over the weekend by projecting it onto buildings around LA.

System Of A Down is one of those bands that has grown in popularity over the past 20 years or so. Obviously, they’ve always been a big band, but they’re a little divisive in the metal community. Are they a hard rock band? Are they a metal band? People still argue about it. Bottom line, they have a lot of memorable songs, and from what I’ve heard, they’ve always put on an amazing live show.
They rarely tour anymore. What’s more common is these one-off shows, and they end up being big spectacles, which is awesome to see. The likelihood they release an album is pretty low as well. Their last full-lengths were Mezmerize and Hypnotize back in 2005, and the only new music since was two songs in 2020.
So this is an awesome chance to see a very memorable band that doesn’t seem to want to do any more touring in general. And they’re doing it in LA.
Presale is here, and general on-sale is next Monday. This seems worth it. Check it out.
