Maiden Aren’t Done Yet

If you’ve never seen Iron Maiden, or it’s been a long time, this is your sign to go. I caught them at BMO Stadium on this run and they put on a hell of a show. Now they’re coming back for more.

It hits regions the current run missed and closes with festival headline slots at Sonic Temple in Columbus and Boardwalk Rock in Ocean City. Bullet for My Valentine and The Raven Age open. Steve Harris put it simply: “We can’t get everywhere but we can try!”

This one caught me off guard. I figured Maiden were winding down for a break, maybe even writing what could be a final album. That’s me speculating, but it’s the vibe the quiet gave off. Instead they’re back out.

For SoCal, that’s two shows: Chula Vista near San Diego, and San Bernardino at Glen Helen, the largest amphitheater in the United States, which used to host Ozzfest and Knotfest. Good, because this crowd needs room.

Who knows how much longer they’ll be around? And they still play a set full of crowd-pleasers as well as anyone out there. Go.
