The NAMM Show returns to the Anaheim Convention Center January 26 to 30, and that’s when the world’s best musicians and music vendors land in Southern California to show off new gear, talk about their bands and upcoming shows, and usually end up playing together at a few cool venues around the area. Metal Allegiance is one of the big ones, and it’s been going on for a few years now.
Look at that guest list. Opeth, Mastodon, Overkill and Armored Saint players on one stage, with Portnoy and Ellefson behind the core band, and Marty Friedman doing an opening set before he joins in. That’s not a lineup you can build on a normal Thursday. It only happens because everyone is already in town for NAMM, and it’s happening at one of the coolest music shows in the world, right here at home.
More guests are expected, so the list will only get better. Presale is open now and the general on-sale hits tomorrow morning. Check it out.
