Christmas Comes Early at 1720
A Death Angel Christmas show in a DTLA warehouse, with three thrash bands opening, a week before Christmas? That should be a fun time.
Death Angel are bringing “Another Death Angel Xmas Show 2026” to 1720 in Los Angeles on Thursday, December 17. 1720 and The Black Communion are presenting it, with Incite, Dead Heat and Evil Dead in support. It’s all ages, doors are at 5 p.m., and tickets go on sale Friday, October 9 through 1720’s Etix page.
The Xmas show is a Bay Area institution. Death Angel have run it in San Francisco for a decade, moving from Slim’s to the Great American Music Hall to The Fillmore, and the 11th annual edition lands there on December 18 with Haunt and The Hunt. The LA show is the night before. Southern California gets the holiday show without the six-hour drive up the 5.
They won’t be rusty, either. Death Angel close out a European run with Vio-lence in Hamburg on December 13, four days before this one. That’s a band coming home after two weeks of playing every night. This is the band that made The Ultra-Violence as teenagers, and nearly forty years later they’re still one of the best live thrash bands going.
The undercard isn’t filler. Evil Dead are LA thrash lifers going back to 1987. Dead Heat bring the Oxnard crossover. Incite handle the groove end of things. That’s a full night of thrash on a Thursday, at a venue that’s been one of the best rooms in the city for exactly this kind of bill.
Tickets go up Friday. Ugly sweater optional.
