Two Saturdays In LA, Two Weeks Apart

Winter 2027 is filling up fast, and two of these three tours land in Los Angeles on back-to-back Saturdays, two weeks apart. This batch runs from progressive metal to Cascadian black metal to melodic death metalcore, and I already know which show I’m clearing my calendar for.

TesseracT North America 2027 tour poster with Entheos and Sunborn

TesseracT is one of the best progressive metal bands of the last 15 years, and they put on an incredible live show. Their last full album cycle was 2023’s War of Being, and they went back out behind Devin Townsend in 2025, so this headline run has me wondering if a new album cycle is close. That’s a hunch, not an announcement. Either way, I’ll be at The Belasco on January 23.

Wolves In The Throne Room — 2027 North American Tour (Relapse)

with Stygian Bough · Spirit Possession

Wolves In The Throne Room winter 2027 North American tour poster

I’m less familiar with Wolves In The Throne Room than I should be, so here’s the pitch as I understand it. The Olympia, Washington band has been the standard bearer for American black metal’s Cascadian wing for two decades, known for analog recording and a very hands-on approach. This run supports Estuary, their eighth album, out October 23 on Relapse. It’s six songs, recorded in their own Owl Lodge studio and at The Unknown in Anacortes, and the concept is set 1,000 years after civilization collapses. “Ghosts Among the Obelisks” is the first single. The LA stop is Saturday, February 6 at The Regent, with tickets on sale Friday, October 9 at 10am.

Darkest Hour Suffer Divine North America tour poster

Darkest Hour formed in the Washington, D.C. area in 1995, and Suffer Divine, out October 30, is their eleventh album and their first since 2017’s Godless Prophets & The Migrant Flora. Mark Lewis produced it, the guy behind records from Whitechapel, The Black Dahlia Murder and Cannibal Corpse. John Henry says the title track goes after anyone pushing hatred and division. There’s no California date on this December run, but they’re also opening for Fear Factory on a November leg that ends with two nights at the Whisky a Go Go in LA, November 28 and 29.
