The Tour’s Over. LA Gets One More.
Lauren Hart hasn’t even been fronting Arch Enemy for a year, and she’s already made a real impression. She fits this band great. Now they’re going back to their roots, no pun intended, and they’re doing it in none other than Los Angeles.
Arch Enemy have announced an exclusive “Back to the Root of All Evil” club show for Thursday, November 19 at the 1720 Warehouse in downtown LA. It lands three days after their Wrath Across America co-headline run with The Black Dahlia Murder wraps in Seattle, and it’s the only North American date for the format after the band ran it through European clubs this summer. It’s billed as an old-school set, all ages, with Crypta and Thrown Into Exile opening. Michael Amott says they’ll be “digging deep into the ARCH ENEMY archives for this one, old songs and forgotten gems.”
Tickets: on sale Friday, October 9 at 10am PT.
Why it matters
Quick refresher: Alissa White-Gluz left in November 2025 after more than a decade with the band, and Hart was revealed in February with “To the Last Breath.” Following Angela Gossow and Alissa is a lot of pressure for any singer. So far, she’s handling it.
The show’s name nods to The Root of All Evil, the 2009 record where Arch Enemy re-recorded songs from Black Earth, Stigmata and Burning Bridges. So “old school” probably means deep cuts, not the hits. I’m hoping they pull from across every era anyway: the Angela era, the Alissa era, and whatever Hart is building now. Either way, this is a rare chance to see the band in rawer form, in a warehouse instead of a theater.
I didn’t make it out to the Riverside show. I’ll be trying hard not to miss this one.
Arch Enemy have been one of the best melodic death metal bands for the better part of 30 years. If you’re not doing anything in Los Angeles on November 19, you should check this out.
