Maiden Beer at Lemmy’s Bar
Free is the part I keep coming back to. No ticket, no RSVP, no $250 VIP package with a laminate you throw in a drawer. Iron Maiden is opening Eddie’s Dive Bar at the Rainbow Bar and Grill for three straight days in September, and you just walk in.
Eddie’s Dive Bar is Maiden’s official pop-up, and this is the first time it has crossed the Atlantic. It runs alongside the Run For Your Lives tour, and per the band’s site the LA stop takes over the Rainbow at 9015 Sunset Blvd on September 25, 26 and 27. Trooper beer, Darkest Red wine, entertainment, and Dive Bar merch you won’t find anywhere else. Entry is free and everyone is welcome.

LA runs 3PM to 2AM all three days, per the LA flyer Iron Maiden posted to Instagram. Times for the other US stops are not posted yet at ironmaiden.com.
LA gets three days. Every other US city gets one, except New York’s two. That tracks. Maiden plays BMO Stadium on the 25th and the 27th, which leaves the 26th dark, and they are keeping the bar open anyway. Then there is the venue. A band that has been playing Los Angeles since 1981 could have booked a taproom by the stadium. They took the Rainbow instead, Lemmy’s bar, the one room on Sunset that actually means something. Fair warning though, it sits about 11 miles from BMO, so treat it as its own trip rather than a pre-gig walk, or go on the 26th when there is no show to make.
And yes, the band’s own page says it flatly: “No! The band will not be at any of the events!!” Two exclamation points. Still, you never know who wanders into a bar on Sunset. Worst case you spend an afternoon drinking Trooper with a few hundred Maiden fans at the Rainbow. That is not a bad worst case.
Working off the flyer? Two corrections. Gainesville means Gainesville, Virginia, not Florida. And the band’s site lists Mystic Lake on the 19th, not the 17th. Go by the site.
