Pizza Sells. LA’s Buying.

Do you like Megadeth? Do you like pizza? Well, you’re in luck. There’s Megadeth pizza, and it’s only in Los Angeles this week.

Prince St. Pizza teamed up with Megadeth on “The Vic’s Pepperoni,” a limited New York-style pie marking 40 years of Peace Sells… But Who’s Buying? It’s original pizza sauce, shredded mozzarella and all-beef pepperoni, served in a custom box of Vic Rattlehead holding a pie of his own under the line “Pizza Sells… But Who’s Buying?” You can get it by the slice or as a whole pie through Sunday, September 27, at all seven Prince St. locations in LA: DTLA, WeHo, Malibu, Pasadena, Studio City, Venice and Westlake Village.

The timing isn’t random. There’s a lot of Megadeth in Los Angeles right now. Tonight they headline a sold-out “An Evening With Megadeth” at the Grammy Museum downtown. Tomorrow they open for Iron Maiden at BMO Stadium, and Sunday they do it again. I’ll be at the Friday show.

Is this a marketing tie-in? Sure. It’s also a pretty good joke. A band whose most famous record asks who’s buying just put its mascot on a pizza box, and whoever drew Vic handing you a pepperoni pie had fun doing it. The box alone is worth the trip.

If you’re heading to BMO this weekend, you know where to eat first. Check it out before Sunday.
